Wedescribeacaseinwhichsegmentalresectionofthethirdportionoftheduodenumwasperformedforagastrointestinalstromaltumor(GIST).A31-year-oldwomanwasfoundtohavea3.5cmhypovasculartumorattheposteriorinferioraspectofthepancreatichead.Preoperativeduodenalbiopsyrevealedthatthetumorwaspositiveforc-kitandvimentin,andwasdiagnosedasaduodenalGIST.Segmentalresectionofthethirdportionoftheduodenumwithpapilloplastyandduodenojejunostomywascarriedoutandtherewerenopostoperative
